Pipedrive SMS integration

Use our Pipedrive SMS integration as a powerful tool to assist your use of Pipedrive. Get SMS messages sent to yourself and employees when different scenarios occur, e.g. when new leads are generated, and be sure that you and your colleagues are notified immediately.

You can also use the SMS integration as an external tool to create SMS flows for new leads or to send SMS messages automatically to leads when they reach a new stage in Pipedrive.

Automatic communication with leads

Set up SMS flows via Pipedrive

You can choose between the popular automation platforms Zapier and Make to set up the integration with. The platforms make it easy to set up the integration, and gives you great flexibility to set up the solutions that make sense for your company. It can either be based on actions that the user performs, e.g. if the user goes from being a lead to being a paying customer.

You can also set up a flow with a series of predefined messages in a specific interval. However, this must be used with care. The strength of the SMS message is that the medium is incredibly good at catching the recipient’s attention – as many as 98% of SMS messages are read. This also means that it is important to make sure that the content of the messages is highly relevant to the recipient.

Internal use

Get notified immediately when new leads are registered

When a new lead is registered in Pipedrive, an SMS notification is sent so you can act immediately.

The difference between closing or not closing a sale can be just a few minutes. Make sure you never miss a new lead with this integration, which automatically forwards an SMS message via GatewayAPI to the relevant sales staff the moment a new lead is registered in Pipedrive.

3,000+ apps to choose from

How Zapier and Make work

Zapier and Make offer you the ability to integrate with thousands of services, apps and systems. Just to name a few of your options, you can choose between e-commerce platforms, social media, CRM systems, payment systems, planning tools, communication platforms, CMS systems and the entire Google ecosystem. In fact, Zapier offers over 3,000 apps you can integrate with and Make 1,000+ apps.

Zapier and Make are both built around triggers and actions, which can be described as a number of complex functions, which are incredibly easy to connect cross-sectionally due to the way Zapier and Make are built. All you have to do is simply combine them in the ways that make sense for your business.

An example of a trigger could be, for example, that a new lead has been registered in Pipedrive, after which an action could be that an SMS is sent to the sales manager via GatewayAPI.

How to get started

Step by step guide to setting up the integration

If you haven’t already done so, first create a GatewayAPI account. Afterwards, create a Zapier account or a Make account.

We recommend that you use Zapier if you have a single trigger and a simple flow, where Make is better suited for more complex automation flows, where different actions and flows are executed based on previous actions and results.

Once the accounts are created, you can set up your first integrations by following the steps in the guides below.

Set up via Zapier

  • Go to your Zapier account.
  • Go to “My Apps” in the left menu.
  • Search for “GatewayAPI”.
  • Click on “Connect”.
  • Insert your unique GatewayAPI key, which you can find on your GatewayAPI dashboard under ‘API keys’ and ‘Token’, to start using our app in Zapier.
  • Follow this guide to connect Pipedrive to Zapier.
  • Then set up exactly the features and automatic actions you want.
  • Use our pre-configured GatewayAPI + Zapier + Pipedrive template, which automatically sends a message to relevant sales staff when a new lead is registered in Pipedrive.

Set up via Make

  • Go to your Make account.
  • Go to “scenarios” in the menu on the left.
  • Click on “create a new scenario”.
  • Search for GatewayAPI.
  • When you set up the app, you will be asked for your unique GatewayAPI key, which you can find on your GatewayAPI dashboard under ‘API keys’ and ‘Token’.
  • Follow this guide to connect Pipedrive to Make.
  • Now you are ready to set up exactly the features and automatic actions you want.
