Enable SMS Support with Our Zendesk SMS Integration

Offer your customers SMS support via our Zendesk SMS integration, which makes it incredibly easy for your customers to get in touch with you and get answers to their questions in a fast and reliable way.

This can also help strengthen your company’s customer satisfaction, since you will be able to offer your customer an additional way of getting in touch with you.

Step by step guide

Setting up the Zendesk SMS integration

Once the setup is in place, everything is handled in Zendesk, where support cases are automatically created and updated when a customer starts a support case via SMS. You can thus both read and reply to incoming SMS messages directly in Zendesk where your answers are converted into an SMS message that is sent back to the customer.

You can find a complete and developer-friendly guide to how to integrate Zendesk with GatewayAPI here.

The guide goes through all the relevant steps in the setup, where you can learn how to set up:

  • Integration between Zendesk and GatewayAPI
  • That incoming SMS messages are converted into a support case in Zendesk with the customer’s request.
  • That customers can receive SMS messages with the answers that you write directly in Zendesk
  • Automatic messages that are sent back to the customer if their inquiry was not understood by the system.
  • Routing of messages to the right Zendesk channel via the use of keywords
