Learn how to set up geographical permissions so that your GatewayAPI account can only send SMS messages to countries you have pre-approved.
This security measure ensures that even if your API keys should be compromised, your account cannot be used to send SMS messages to blocked countries, i.e. countries that are not on your list of allowed countries.
Please note that this feature is only applied to the REST API. Please also note that as the default setting when you first create your account, all countries are permitted. You have to actively choose your permitted countries if you do not wish for your account to be permitted to send SMS messages to all countries.

If an SMS is sent to a country which has not been put on the “allowed countries” list, this will result in a 422 HTTP error code – the SMS will not be delivered and will not be charged either. This also goes for bulk messages sent to a group of countries and one or more countries have not been marked as allowed countries. In that case, none of the messages will be sent or charged.
